Great post! Sometimes I feel guilty about caring more for dogs than most people, but it seems built into my dna or something. It's always been there and I suspect it always will be. My dogs are my life - especially now that the kids are on their own.

I have friends who are not dog people and some who are cat people (gasp!), and while I love them dearly, there seems to be something missing from the relationship when I can't blather on and on about dogs. Once, I had to bring my 2 big dogs to the clinic to board for a few hours while we had another couple over for dinner because they are not "dog people". I never did that again. If you can't accept my dogs, you aren't really accepting ME. Right?
